Where is Cultural Criticism in the Digital Humanities?

在当今的网络通信世界中,数字人文在帮助人文学科走出困境方面扮演着特殊的角色。从文化批评的角度,数字人文能为人文学科的发展起到推动和领导作用。我们的目标是以一种扩展到批判性地思考世界的权力、金融和其他治理协议的方式,对元数据进行思考(包括所有与数字技术相关的东西)。尽管开篇立场是批判性的,但最终目标是希望思考如何将我所认为的数字人文的不足转变为机遇。

In today’s world of networked communications,the digital humanities have a special role to play in helping the humanities reach out.From the perspective of cultural criticism,digital humanities can most profoundly advocate and leading role in the development of the humanities.The goal is to think“critically about metadata”(and everything else related to digital technologies)in a way that scales into thinking critically about the power,finance,and other governance protocols of the world.While my opening stance is critical,the final goal is hopeful:to recommend how the deficit in the digital humanities I identify may convert antithetically into an opportunity.
