木筋墙建筑是英国最具影响力的传统木建筑之一。本文通过提炼木筋墙建筑在材料、结构及形态表征下的“软传统”,发现英国现代木构建筑以节材为核心理念的“极”“轻”“显”的特征来源于“软传统”在现代语境下的转译和重构,其注重继承非物质价值理念的“软传承”而非实体特征的方式对我国木构建筑的发展有一定启示作用。

British timber-framed architecture is the most influential traditional wooden building in Britain.By distilling the"soft tradition"of British timber-framed buildings in terms of material,structure and form,it is clarified that the main characteristics of"extreme',"light"and"obvious"of modern British timber buildings,which is oriented by the concept of material-efficiency,are derived from the translation and reconstruction of the'soft tradition"in a contemporary context.Its'soft inheritance method,which focuses on the inheritance of non-material values rather than physical characteristics,has implications for development of timber buildings in China.
