摘要
论文通过关键词共现网络分析和文本解读法,对2010—2020年中国《人民日报》和新加坡《联合早报》两份官方主流报纸中关于陈嘉庚的报道进行了比较分析。研究显示,中新两国主流媒体叙事都塑造了陈嘉庚作为华侨典范和社会领袖的形象,其一生所倾心的教育事业,尤其是创办厦门大学及其在抗日活动中的贡献,是两国媒体叙事主题的交汇空间。但中新两国主流媒体在陈嘉庚叙事的当代建构中也存在较明显的差异。中国在讲好陈嘉庚故事时,有必要跳出传统的对内宣传模式,以加强对话、培育共识、促进认同的国际传播视角,塑造全面鲜活的嘉庚形象,弘扬嘉庚精神的普世价值,以扩大中新两国乃至整个东南亚地区共通共融的意义和价值空间。
Applying methods of keyword co-occurrence network analysis and text analysis,this study compares news reports on Tan Kah Kee in China’s “People’s Daily” and Singapore’s “Lianhe Zaobao” from 2010 to 2020.Both papers present him as an overseas Chinese role model,who was devoted to developing modern education in China,especially through founding Xiamen University,and who made important contributions to China’s war efforts against the Japanese invasion.However,there are differences,with regards to story content and narrative construction,in the two papers.The author suggests that China modify her traditional model of propaganda targeting the Chinese domestic audience by adapting an international communication approach to portray Tan Kah Kee as a full person,while still promoting the spirit of his universal value system.Through media dialogues on commonalities and consensus among mankind,China may broaden her engagement with Singapore and the rest of Southeast Asia.
