英汉语篇语法衔接手段对比及翻译策略

On E-C Comparison of Grammatical Cohesive Devices and Translation Strategies

衔接手段的对比研究是英汉语篇对比的一个重要范畴,也是英汉语篇对比的核心。根据韩礼德与哈桑的分类,语法衔接手段包括照应(Reference)、替代(Substitution)、省略(Ellipsis)和连接(Conjunction)。由于英语是形合语言,汉语为意合语言,所以英汉语篇的衔接手段在具有相似性的同时,必然存在差异性。对比英汉两种语篇衔接手段的异同对于翻译具有重要意义,本文通过两种语篇语法衔接手段差异的对比,探讨译者在英汉互译过程中应采取的处理方法和策略,从而产出高质量的译文。

The comparative study of cohesive devices is an important category and core of the comparison of English and Chinese texts.According to Halliday and Hasan,the grammatical cohesive devices include Reference,Substitution,Ellipsis and Conjunction.Since English is a paraphrase language and Chinese is a syntactic language,differences must exist in the cohesive devices between English and Chinese texts.Comparing the similarities and differences of them is of great significance to translation.Through the comparison of the differences between the E-C grammatical cohesive devices,this paper discusses the skills and strategies that translators should take in translation between English and Chinese,to give high quality target text.
