图式理论视域下《饮膳正要》的英译研究

On the English Translation of the Classic of Medicine Yinshan Zhengyao:A Schema Theory Perspective

本文借鉴图式理论,以《饮膳正要》首个英译本中的特殊食材、膳食名称、文化背景、中医术语、养生理念及宜忌相关条目翻译为例,探讨了少数民族医药典籍英译中的语言、文化图式的转换,探究民族医药典籍翻译中的难点和处理方法。研究发现,译者需要考虑译文读者的图式知识,正确解码源语图式,灵活采取翻译策略,可融合直译、意译、创译等多种译法,构建民族语言文化图式,以激活目标读者文化意象关联。

With the discussion of the translation of ingredients,diet names,cultural background,TCM terms,health cultivation concepts and taboos in Yinshan Zhengyao,this paper probes into the linguistic and cultural schemata in the English translation of the medical classic of Chinese ethnic minorities from the perspective of schema theory.It investigates the difficulties and methods in translating such classics.It is found that the translator needs to consider the original schemata of the target readers,decode the schemata of the source text,and integrate various translation methods such as literal translation,free translation,creative translation to construct national linguistic and cultural schemata.
