摘要
本文基于Messick效度整体观,通过学习者自评和访谈,运用Rasch模型探索《中国英语能力等级量表》(CSE)听力自评量表在结构、内容和外部层面的效度。研究发现:该量表可以区分不同听力水平学习者,大多数“能做”描述语符合Rasch单维听力能力模型,自评结果与大学四级、六级、雅思、托福听力测试成绩显著相关。换言之,CSE听力自评量表在结构、内容和外部层面效度较好,虽然少部分描述语表述模糊、情景不明、被试缺乏相应任务经历等,但将该量表作为自评工具运用于外语教、学、测、评领域具有合理性。
Theoretically underpinned by Messick ’s unified validity theory,this study investigates the structural,content and external aspects of the validity of China’s Standards of English Language Ability( CSE) self-assessment( SA)scale for listening proficiency from learners’ self-assessment and interview applying Rasch model. The results indicate that the scale can discriminate learners at different language proficiency levels. Most of the can-do statements fit the unidimensional Rasch model of listening proficiency. Students ’ SA results correlate significantly with listening test scores of CET-4,CET-6,IELTS and TOEFL. In other words,the CSE SA scale for listening proficiency is overall valid in terms of structural, content and external aspects. Even though a few descriptors suffer from vague description,unclear contextualization and unfamiliar language tasks,it is reasonable to apply it as a self-assessment tool in foreign language teaching, learning and assessment. This study provides some implications for further improvement and broader application of the CSE SA scale for listening proficiency.
