The decorative techniques of the under-eave components of Hexi Corridor buildings built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties are characterized by the absence of the Dou and the Sheng for an ordinary Dou-Gong,and the use of a carved wooden plank in place of the Gong and Ang.Based on extensive site surveys, this paper analyzes the decorative techniques of the Huaban Daigong in terms of its outline, sculpture, and color painting, and investigates the decorations of other under-eave components related to Huaban Daigong. In addition, the paper attempts to reveal the evolution rules of the decorative techniques of the under-eave components of Hexi Corridor architecture.
