With the continuous development of social economy and the sustained progress of modern science and technology, the application of information technology has infiltrated into the urban planning and construction, so that various platforms and auxiliary systems can be applied in the urban planning.This paper introduces digital city planning into urban planning and construction, summarizes digital city and urban planning, and discusses the specific application of 3D modeling technology in urban planning, so as to provide support for the effective development of actual urban planning.
