On the Life Concept of Animal Narratives in Chi Zijian’s Novels

Since the 1980s,the creation of animal narratives has become a boom,and the works are quite abundant.In animal narrative novels centered on animals and reflecting the relationship between hu-man beings and animals,Chi Zijian affirms the intrinsic value of animals,holds there are two different life consciousness in different time lines of primitive and modern times,and disseminates maternal love for natu-ral life from the perspective of women,so that the novel conveys the overall concept of natural life regard-less of species and class,and shows Chi Zijian’s understanding of life equality,ecological balance and the beautiful hope of harmonious interdependence between human beings and animals.
