美国音乐图书馆学会《音乐发现需求》的解读与启示

Interpretation and Inspiration:A Study of U.S.Music Library Association’s Music Discovery Requirements

为应对飞速发展的知识发现环境以及音乐类文献资源著录的特殊性和复杂性,2012年美国音乐图书馆学会制定并发布了第一版《音乐发现需求》(Music Discovery Requirements,简称MDR1),这是一份主要面向音乐图书馆员、创建与设计音乐发现界面的开发者及相关专业人员而制定的需求文档。2017年完成了更新版MDR2的修订及发布。文章通过对MDR主体及修订版更新内容的解读和分析,引介美国音乐著录的实践与经验,以期对当今知识发现环境下的音乐资源描述有所启示。

Considering the unique demands posed by music materials and the complexity of cataloguing such documents in a rapidly changing discovery environment,the Music Library Association released in 2012 the first version of Music Discovery Requirements (MDR1),a document specially compiled for music librarians,developers who create and design music discovery interfaces,and related professionals.The revised version,MDR2 was published in 2017.This paper aims to introduce the current situation and experience of music cataloging practice in the United States through an interpretation and analysis of the main content and revisions of MDR,with a view to shedding some light on music resource description in today’s discovery environment.
