《山居秋瞑》及其英译本的生态话语分析

An Eco-discourse Analysisof Autumn Evening in the Mountains and its English Versions

采用生态话语的分析方法,以系统功能语言学三大元功能即概念功能、人际功能、语篇功能为理论指导,具体从及物性、语气和情态、评价系统、主位结构等几个角度对诗歌《山居秋瞑》及其英译本进行生态话语分析。研究发现,《山居秋瞑》及其译文主要通过及物过程中赋予非人类生命体参与者生命特征或物理场所一定的属性、选用陈述语气及具有较高情态值和积极色彩的词汇、选择非人类生命体作为话题主位等手段来体现其中的生态意蕴,传递了人和自然“和谐共生”的生态理念,属于典型的生态有益性话语。

Based on the three meta-functions(ideational function,interpersonal function and textual function)of systemic functional linguistics,this paper adopts the method of eco-discourse analysis to explore ecological meaning in Wang Wei’s poem Autumn Evening in the Mountains and its English versions from the perspectives of transitivity,mood,modality,and thematic structure.The study found that both of the original and English versions contain ecological meanings by endowing non-human life entities with life or physical settings with some features in the transitivity process,choosing indicative mood and lexical expressions with a higher modality value and positive sense,and selecting non-life entities as themes,and convey the ecological idea of“harmonious coexistence”between human and nature,which proves that the poem and its English versions are typical eco-beneficial discourses.
