Internet Use and Total Factor Productivity Improvement in Manufacturing Industry

利用世界银行投入产出数据库,实证评估互联网使用对制造业全要素生产率的影响.从使用规模看,互联网使用促进了制造业全要素生产率提升,制造业存在最优的互联网使用规模区间.从使用结构看,硬件互联网使用促进了制造业全要素生产率提高,软件互联网使用并未促进制造业全要素生产率提升,且二者协调互补的促进效应并不明显.从使用来源看,本土互联网使用促进了制造业全要素生产率提高,进口互联网使用并未促进制造业全要素生产率提高,且二者之间的协同互补作用并未得到体现.

The paper uses the World Bank input-output database to empirically evaluate the impact of Internet use on total factor productivity in the manufacturing industry.From the perspective of the use scale,Internet use promotes the total factor productivity in the manufacturing industry,with an optimal range of Internet use scale in the manufacturing industry.Examined from the use structure,the use of hardware Internet promotes the total factor productivity in the manufacturing industry,while the use of software Internet does not;the promoting effect is not obvious when the two are coordinated and complemented.When it comes to the use source,the domestic Internet use promotes the total factor productivity increase in the manufacturing industry,whereas the imported Internet use does not,the mutual strengthening effect between the two having not been reflected.
