A Brief Analysis of Louise Glück’s Trauma Writing in A Village Life

Louise Glück,American contemporary poetess and winner of the 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature,is good at writing about such themes as life,death,love,hatred,family,and marriage.Her unmistakable poetic voice can easily strike a chord with readers.This paper gives a brief analysis to her poetry collection A Village Life from the perspective of trauma theory,summarizing roughly the types of trauma in it and analyzing tentatively the causes of trauma,in the hope of better understanding Louise Glück’s writing motivation and the connotation of her poetry,as well as exploring the healing effect of writing on trauma.
