The rapid development of economic globalization has separated the places where commodities are produced and consumed.China mentioned the concept of“new normal”in May 2014 and proposed the carbon peaking and the carbon neutrality goals in 2020,which attaches more importance to the sustainable development of society. This paper constructs an econometric model based on data about 287 prefecture-level cities in China from 2004 to 2018,and studies the impact of export trade and geographic conditions on air pollution in China and compares the changes before and after the“new normal”.The study reveals that the impact of export trade on air pollution is significantly positive.Different geographical location conditions, such as latitude and longitude, have different impacts on air pollution.During the development period of the“new normal”economy, the effect of air pollution control has been very significant in China. In the end, this paper puts forward suggestions on adjusting the main product structure of export trade, developing environmentally friendly industries, paying attention to the impact of geographical conditions on the environment, optimizing and exploring regional collaborative governance paths, etc.
