Effects of Ti Layer Volume Fraction on Mechanical Properties of Ti/Ti-Al Laminated Composites Prepared by Hot-pressing

摘要 以纯Ti箔和Al箔为原材料,通过真空热压法(VHP)制备了Ti/Ti-Al叠层复合材料,研究了Ti层体积分数对其力学性能的影响。结果表明,Ti层体积分数对Ti/Ti-Al叠层复合材料的性能有明显的影响,Ti层体积分数为45%的叠层复合材料具有较好的力学性能,室温抗拉强度为313.5 MPa,抗弯强度为911.5 MPa。Ti层体积分数为45%的叠层复合材料通过韧性层阻碍裂纹扩展及脆性层中二次裂纹增加裂纹路径,有效吸收断裂能,提高材料的强度;弯曲试验中,Ti层体积分数为45%的叠层复合材料裂纹扩展路径长且曲折,韧性Ti层通过裂纹尖端的塑性变形钝化裂纹,阻止裂纹扩展,提高了材料的韧性。 Ti/Ti-Al laminated composites were prepared with pure Ti foil and Al foil as raw materials by vacuum hot pressing(VHP).The effects of Ti layer volume fraction on the mechanical properties of Ti/Ti-Al laminated composites were investigated.The results indicate that the volume fraction of the Ti layer has a significant effect on the properties of the Ti/Ti-Al laminated composite.When the Ti layer volume fraction is in range of 33%~65%,the Ti/Ti-Al laminated composite with 45% Ti layer exhibits desirable room temperature tensile strength(313.5 MPa) and flexural strength(911.5 MPa),which hinders crack propagation and extension path of secondary crack in brittle layers through ductile layers,absorbing the fracture energy and improving the strength effectively.In the bending test,the crack propagation path of the Ti/Ti-Al laminated composite with 45% Ti layer is long and tortuous,and the ductile Ti layer passivates the crack through plastic deformation at the crack tip,preventing the crack from expanding,thus improving toughness of the composites.
