To grasp the power of historical discourse interpretation of“the February 28 Incident”,we need to conduct a comparative historical study in a long period of time. The“doublewar structure”framework of the civil war and the cold war is used to analyze the characteristics and trajectory of media discourse of“the February 28 Incident”on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, and then examine the politics of memory in different historical periods. It is found that the media memory formed by the media reports and discourse transformation of both sides is politicized. In the ideological and realpolitical needs demands of each side, the theme and narrative of the report reflect the difference of the dominant values of both sides and the continuation and change of the politics of memory.Peace and development between the two sides ultimately depends on whether a new consensus can be formed. In the future,we should focus on how to integrate the different political discourses developed by the two sides, and find more compatible ideological resources from them.
