The Application of Near-natural Forest Management in Guanshan Forest Area

长期以来,由于受发展资金的制约,森林经营措施严重滞后,土壤结构发育不完全,林地生产力低下,森林的多功能性没有得到发挥。经过近八年探索与实践,陇东黄土高原生态屏障关山林区初步形成了以目标树为主的近自然经营的关山模式,以“宜造则造、宜抚则抚,控制皆伐、经营劣质林、改造贬值林、局部抚育”的经营理念,充分利用现有森林资源,砍伐贬值资源,培育增值资源,实现森林的永续利用,最大限度地发挥森林的生态、经济和社会效益。

For a long time,due to the restriction of development funds,forest management measures have seriously lagged behind,the development of soil structure is incomplete,the productivity of forest land is low,and the multi-function of forest has not been brought into play.After nearly eight years of exploration and practice,Guanshan forest area,an ecological barrier on the Loess Plateau in Eastern Gansu,has initially formed a close to natural management model based on target trees.With the business philosophy of"building and caressing,controlling clear cutting,managing low-quality forests,transforming devalued forests and local tending",it makes full use of existing forest resources,felling devalued resources and cultivating value-added resources,Realize the sustainable use of forests and give full play to the ecological,economic and social benefits of forests.
