A Discussion on the Concept of Metropolitan Region and Its Applications in China

发展建设现代化都市圈对于我国落实区域协调发展等国家战略决策具有重大意义。文章首先回顾了西方大都市区/都市圈的理论渊源和实践探索历程,明确其在西方语境下的概念内涵;其次对我国的研究及实践历程进行简要综述,并基于中外差异探讨我国都市圈的空间组织逻辑及概念内涵界定;最后在新时代国土空间规划体系的语境下,对我国都市圈发展的若干应用议题展开讨论。

The development of modern Metropolitan Region is significant to national and regional coordinated development strategies.Firstly,this paper reviews the origin and practice of Metropolitan Region in western countries,clarifying its connotation in western context;Then it reviews relevant research and practice in China,discussing the spatial organization and concept connotation of Metropolitan Region in Chinese context.Finally,several key issues and applications about Metropolitan Region development in China are discussed in the context of National Territory Development Planning System in the new era.
