Mediterranean Rim and Pacific Rim: Two Forms of Civilizations in the Ancient World

上个世纪的中华文明研究,总体上是在西方文明理论框架下进行,因而有许多误解。中国百年考古发掘研究与西方两百年考古发掘研究证明,中华文明与古希腊古罗马文明在起源、形态、特质等方面均有许多不同之处;而且,中华文明还代表了整个环太平洋古代文明的形态特征,古希腊文明则代表了整个环地中海古代诸文明的形态特征。在马克思主义唯物史观指导下,坚持“两个相结合”,深入研究中华文明形态特征,不仅可以为中国特色社会主义所创造的“人类文明新形态”提供有力理论支撑,还可以为人类社会的未来发展提供中国文明形态模式与中国智慧方案,意义重大。

Studies of the Chinese civilization in the last century was generally carried out within the western civilization theoretical framework,which generated many misunderstandings.A hundred years of archaeological excavations in China and two hundred years of archaeological excavations in the West have proved that there are many differences between the Chinese civilization and the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations in origin,form and characteristics.Moreover,the Chinese civilization also embodies the morphological characteristics of ancient civilizations in the Pacific rim,while the ancient Greek civilization embodies the morphological characteristics of ancient civilizations in the Mediterranean rim.With the guidance of Marxist historical materialism and adhering to the"two combinations",studying deep into the morphological characteristics of the Chinese civilization will not only provide strong theoretical support for the"new form of human civilization"created by socialism with Chinese characteristics,but also provide the mode of Chinese civilization and plans with Chinese wisdom for future development of the human society,which is of great significance.
