The motif of having the same common ancestor in the widespread myths in Yunnan is one of the key motifs in the oral myths among ethnic groups in this area,which carries their collective memory about the recognition of the community of Chinese people. These oral myths have bearings on each other,demonstrating a high degree of identity with the Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation among Yunnan ethnic groups.
