Eternal Survival:the Existentialist Basis of World History in the 21st Century

西方古典世界历史理论的主题是“永久和平”。马克思对人类永久和平问题提供了不同方案,即通过消灭资本主义私有制来消灭阶级斗争的历史,实现共产主义的永久和平。然而,历史进入21世纪,资本主义发生了新变化,导致人类面临两大“逆向挑战”,即整体性的生态危机和有足够毁灭自身能力的核战争的威胁。这两大“逆向挑战”破坏了以往“永久和平”的世界历史的存在论基础,迫使世界历史不得不寻求“永久生存”这一新的存在论基础。“人类文明新形态”和“推动构建人类命运共同体”为重新确立“永久生存”的世界历史存在论基础贡献了中国智慧和中国方案。

“Eternal Peace”is the theme of Western classical world history theory.Marx put forward a different solution to mankind’s problem of eternal peace,that is,to terminate the history of class struggle by eliminating capitalistic private ownership,thus realizing communist eternal peace.Entering the 21^(st) century,however,capitalism experienced changes,which set mankind against two“reverse challenges”,namely,holistic ecological crisis and the threat of nuclear war capable of self-destruction.The two“reverse challenges”impaired the existentialistic basis of world history that had previously themed“eternal peace”,and forced world history to seek“eternal survival”as its new existentialistic basis.“The new form of human civilization”and“building a community with a shared future for mankind”present Chinese wisdom and Chinese approach for the establishment of“eternal survival”as the existentialistic basis of world history.
