Phenomenology of the Body,Somatic Culture,Action Painting:A Discussion about the Philosophy of Dance

中国艺术研究院舞蹈研究所与该院研究生院舞蹈学系联合邀请华东师范大学哲学系姜宇辉教授讲授“西方哲学史上的身体问题”,期待借此拓宽学科视野,推动舞蹈与其他人文学科的交流互动,以顺应新时代的学科发展要求。也许,我们可以从两方面来解释开设这门课程的必要性和迫切性。一方面,舞蹈作为一门艺术的形式本身及其作为研究对象的当代演进,使得当代舞蹈成为一种“与身体进行开放性交换的体系”。自20世纪60年代以来舞蹈所发生的断裂式变革中,最突出的特点正是舞蹈艺术家们对身体而非舞蹈动作的重视。舞蹈摒弃了以往的技术、审美和风格,转而探究身体自身的智慧、身体的运动机制,以及身体的文化意义和建构主体的潜能,当代舞蹈因此爆发出思想的力量,也因此成为一种建构性的文化实践。另一方面,从学科史角度看,舞蹈研究也因为20世纪后半叶兴起的理论热潮,以及文化研究、表演研究等跨学科领域的出现发生着研究范式的转变,从以往强调舞蹈类别和风格的舞蹈历史研究转变为借助各种理论工具展开文化阐释和理论思辨的工作,身体研究正是处在这个转变与其他人文学科相交叉的地带,引起了当下舞蹈研究的广泛关注。舞蹈对于身心二元论困境的破除,舞蹈与生命的紧密关联,以及舞蹈对于人类在技术时代危机中予以突围的潜能,将成为未来舞蹈研究的重要学术话题。舞蹈学,期待更广阔更深入的肉身之舞和思想之舞的共鸣。

The Graduate School of China Academy of Art and its Department of Dance invite professor Jiang Yuhui from the Department of Philosophy of East China Normal University to teach“The Body in the History of Western Philosophy”in the hope of expanding the horizon of the discipline and improving the interaction between dance and other humanities to meet the demand of discipline development in the new era.We can explain the necessity and urgency of the course from two aspects.First,the contemporary evolution of dance as an art form and as an object of dance studies has made contemporary dance a“system of open exchange with the body”.The most prominent feature of the fractured transformation of dance since the 1960s is the study of the body.Dance has abandoned its traditional technology,aesthetics,and styles and begun to explore the body’s wisdom,mechanisms of movement,cultural significance,and potential for constructing the subject.Contemporary dance has hence become a power of thoughts andconstructive cultural practice.Second,from the perspective of disciplinary history,dance studies have also experienced a paradigm shift due to the theoretical boom in the second half of the 20th century and the emergence of interdisciplinary fields such as cultural studies and performance studies,a shift of focus from descriptive studies on the categories and styles of dance to explanatory and critical works with the help of various theoretical tools.In the transition and in the interdisciplinary area,somatic studies are attracting much attention to dance studies.Dance’s ability of deconstructing the mind-body dualism,its close connection with life,and its potential to overcome the human crisis in the technological era will become hot topics in dance studies.Dance studies are looking forward to a resonance of the dance of the body and the dance of the mind.
