Thoughts on the Solution of “Mathematics Abuse” in Economic Management Research——Taking the Course Construction of “Intermediate Econometrics” as an Example

“计量经济学”课程建设,在纠正经济管理学科研究中的“数学滥用”问题上应承担起相应责任。具体而言,建设“中级计量经济学”一流课程,以内容严谨性为基础,保证研究方法论课程体系的科学性和系统性;以内容前沿性为根本,注重计量经济学理论产生和发展的脉络;以学习高要求为关键,形成反馈和帮助的考核机制;以学生发展为中心,把脉学生诉求,改进教学方法。这些关于课程建设的思路在解决“数学滥用”问题上都将发挥积极作用。

The course construction of Econometrics should bear the corresponding responsibility in correcting the problem of “mathematics abuse” in the research on economic management discipline. Specifically, in order to construct the first-class curriculum of “Intermediate Econometrics”,the idea should be basing the rigor of content, to ensure the scientific and systematic research methodology curriculum;focusing on the frontier content in its field, paying attention to the emergence and development of econometric theory;forming feedback and help assessment mechanism with high-level strict learning requirements as the key, grasping students’ demands and improving teaching methods with student development as the centre. These ideas about curriculum construction will play an active role in solving the problem of “mathematics abuse”.
