绥德话“左手”之“左”读ts■^(52)音考

The Textual Research about the Pronunciation of Zuo(左)in“Left Hand”as“ts■^(52)”in Suide Dialect

绥德话“左手”的“左”,可读舌尖音韵母■、去声,与同摄内的字音差异甚大,而与止开三精庄章组字同音,不符合绥德话语音演变的规律。通过考察绥德话果假摄字与曾梗摄字合流的历史,比较绥德与周边方言曾梗摄字的不同演变方向,文章认为绥德话“左”读■韵,是果假摄与曾梗摄合流后,受曾梗摄白读音“感染”所致,也是避免与“正手(右手)”发生“同音冲突”的结果。

The modern Suide pronunciation of zuo(左)"left"is ts■^(52) with an apical vowel and on falling tone,and is utterly different from the other characters subsumed under the same MC rhyme group.However it is homophonous with the characters of the MC initial groups of jing(精),zhuang(庄)and zhang(章)that combines with rhymes from the zhi(止,divisionⅢ)group.This phenomenon does not go with the evolutionary patterns observed so far in Suide dialect By investigating the history of merging of MC guojia(果假)and zenggeng(曾梗)rhyme groups in Suide dialect,and by comparing the different developmental directions of zenggeng groups as observed in Suide dialect and its surrounding dialects,this paper proposes that the pronunciation of zuo came about due to the influence of the colloquial pronunciation of zenggeng groups,which should occur after zenggeng and guojia groups merged,probably with an aim to avoid homophony between zuo"left"and you(右)"right".
