The development of continuing education in American universities can be roughly divided into the initial period,specialized period,and diversified period,and has formed many experiences worth learning from in the historical evolution.Continuing education in American universities has the advantages of perfect education system construction,diversified funding sources,and school running structure embedded in the market,and"two-track parallel"operation mechanism,and constantly updated teaching content and technology,which provides beneficial enlightenment for the development of continuing education in colleges and universities in China.Given this,China's continuing education in colleges and universities should continue to consolidate the foundation of the education system,expand investment channels,integrate multiple market factors,integrate"general high education",and"higher continuing education",and innovate teaching practice,to improve the governance efficiency of continuing education in colleges and universities in China and promote its sound and rapid development.
