英汉习语存在着诸多文化信息,在习语翻译中是否切合实际、是否可以全面传达所蕴含的文化信息,直接影响了跨文化交流。该文分析了英汉习语文化差异,从地理差异、价值差异、历史差异等方面进行全面的论述,提出英汉习语翻译的技巧与方式,希望能减小中西文化的差异性,减少文化的冲突,避免造成文化的误解,实现中西方文化的全面交流。

There is a variety of cultural information in Chinese and English idioms.Whether it is practical and can fully convey the cultural information in idiom translation directly affects cross-cultural communication.This paper analyzes the cultural differences of Chinese and English idioms,makes a comprehensive discussion from the aspects of geographical differences,value and historical differences.By further putting forward the skills and methods of idiom translation,this paper hopes to reduce the differences between Chinese and Western cultures as well as cultural conflicts and avoid cultural misunderstandings,thus to eventually realize the comprehensive exchange of Chinese and Western cultures.
