刍议“士”君子理想及其当代发扬

Rumination on the Scholar Ideal and Its Contemporary Development

“士”作为传统知识人群,同时作为古代中国独有的社会阶层,被视为中国封建历史时期的重要建设力量。“士”作为政治、文化领域的先进分子,出于其特殊的社会角色,从来以“道”自任,其修德以成“君子”的人格理想,恰是根源于“内圣外王”的精神理想、“士志于道”的价值追寻,以及包括“修齐治平”在内的人生使命,这在很大程度上持续塑造了中华民族重德守礼、修德利人的美好品行。时至今日,中华民族追寻“君子”理想的精神传统薪火相传,经久不衰,历久弥新,富于德育价值,是培育当代“君子”人格的重要资源。

As a traditional intellectual group and a unique social class in ancient China,scholars were regarded as an important construction force in the feudal history of China.As advanced elements in the political and cultural fields,scholars,due to their special social role,have always been self-appointed by"Tao".Their personality ideal of cultivating morality to become"gentlemen"is exactly rooted in the spiritual ideal of"being sage inside and being king outside",the value pursuit of"scholars dedicated to Tao",and their life mission including maintaining harmony and governing peace.This,to a great extent,continues to shape the Chinese nation’s fine conduct of valuing morality and observing propriety,cultivating morality and benefiting people.Up to now,the Chinese nation’s spiritual tradition of pursuing the ideal of a"gentleman"has been passed down from generation to generation,enduring for a long time,and full of moral values.It is an important resource to cultivate the personality of the contemporary"gentleman".
