跨文化交际理论下中国戏剧典籍英译研究——以《霸王别姬》英译为例

A Study on the English Translation of Chinese Drama Classics under the Intercultural Communication Theory

跨文化交际理论认为,在跨文化交际过程中,翻译应该保留所译文化的异质性,保留其异域文化色彩,并还原该文化在对外传播过程中所流失部分的真实面目。作为我国优秀传统文化之一的中国经典戏剧,是文化交流中的主要交流对象之一,但在其英译的过程中却存在较多文化缺失的现象。为此,通过对我国戏剧典籍英译本中缺失的我国传统文化元素进行分析,提出相应的翻译策略进行文化补偿,从而开发出中国文学“走出去”的模式。

Intercultural communication theory holds that in the process of intercultural communication, translation should retain the heterogeneity of the translation, retain its foreign cultural flavor, and restore the true face of the culture lost in the process of external communication. As one of China’s excellent traditional culture, Chinese drama classics is one of the main output objects in cultural exchanges, but there are many cultural deficiencies in the process of its English translation. To this end, through the analysis of Chinese traditional cultural elements that are missing in the English translation of Chinese drama classics, the corresponding translation strategies are proposed for cultural compensation, so as to explore the strategic mode of Chinese literature "going out".
