Social Integration and Development of International Immigrants in China:Construction and Application of a Theoretic Framework

国际移民的社会融合关系着中国社会的稳定发展和治理能力提升。借鉴国外国际移民和国内流动人口社会融合的研究成果,立足中国国际移民的融合与发展情境,构建中国国际移民社会融合与发展的分析框架。从国际移民社会融合的概念界定和维度测量,融合维度间的层级式作用关系,“移民—本地人”双视角下的融合模式,个体、群体和社会环境三个层面的移民融合影响机制,以及心理健康、发展意愿和居留意愿三个方面的移民融合后果机制系统性开展国际移民的社会融合与发展研究。框架采用理论、实证与政策为一体的研究范式,明晰了中国国际移民社会融合研究的理论基础和方向,应用并拓展了已有研究中的“移民—本地人”双向视角,创新性地将二维方向拓展为二维主体,强化了客观结构环境因素对社会融合的影响,并兼顾了中国国际移民社会融合研究的统一性和差异性,有助于完善中国国际移民政策治理体系。

Social integration among international immigrants is critically important since it relates to social development and governmental governance in China.Drawing from international migration and Chinese internal migration literature with attention to the current immigrants’integration and development practice in China,we develop a theoretic framework to understand international immigrants’social integration and development in China.The framework gives a definition and measurement of immigrants’social integration,explores the relationships among different dimensions of social integration,emphasizes the inter-relationship between immigrants and residents,and understands the influencing factors at the individual,group,and contextual levels and the consequences of the immigrants’mental-health status,development intention,and residential intention.The framework systematically guides the social integration study among international immigrants in China.By adopting a theoretical,empirical,and policy-oriented research paradigm,the framework clarifies the research directions for the social integration study among international immigrants in China,innovatively applies the“immigrants-residents”perspectives by expanding the two dimensions into two subjects,strengthens the impact of social structural factors on immigrants’social integration,and emphasis the uniformity and differentiation of social integration study among international immigrants,thus improving the policies and governances related to international immigrations’social integration in China.
