The genome-wide identification of GATA transcription factors in Myrica rubra was performed, and the physical and chemical characteristics, chromosome location, gene structure, duplication pattern, conserved domain, and other basic parameters were predicted. The results showed that 26 GATA transcription factors were randomly distributed on 8 chromosomes;they were divided into 4 subfamilies, with the members of each subfamily differing in conserved motif, domain and gene structure to some extents. Species collinear analysis indicated that gene replication and fragmented repeated events might be the main driving forces for the evolution of some MrGATA genes. The functional differences among subfamilies were further verified by the expression patterns of MrGATA in different tissues and at various developmental stages. Moreover, the functions of members of the MrGATA transcription factor family were speculated based on cis-acting elements and their expression patterns. The study provided a theoretical basis for exploring the function of GATA gene in M.rubra as well as the molecular breeding of M.rubra.
