《奉使燕京总歌并日记》为越南来华使节阮辉莹于乾隆三十年(1765)至三十一年(1766)所作的出使记录,该书以日记和诗歌的形式,详细记载了其来华途中的所见所闻,是研究清代中国社会、经济、文化状况以及中越关系史的重要史料。乾隆三十年(1765)十一月初五日,阮辉莹一行由扬州沿运河水路抵达淮安,十一日离开淮安,乘船至宿迁;次年三月返程时,又再次沿运河经过淮安。在其《奉使燕京总歌并日记》一书中,留下了众多有关淮安水工设施、水神祠庙和名胜古迹的记载和描述,对于研究清代淮安水利史、城市史和社会史具有重要价值。从其相关记述中,亦可以看出淮安在清代河漕治理和南北交通体系中的重要地位。

The General Poems and Diary of the Envoy to Yanjing is a record of Vietnamese envoy Ruan Huiying’s mission to China from the thirtieth year(1765)to the thirty-first year(1765)of Qianlong,which documents what he saw and heard on his way to China in the form of poems and dia⁃ries,is the important historical material for studying the social,economic,and cultural conditions of Chi⁃na in the Qing dynasty and the history of Sino-Vietnam relations.On the fifth day of November in the thirtieth year of Qianlong(1765),Ruan Huiying and his team arrived in Huai'an from Yangzhou along the Canal waterway.They left Huai'an on the 11th November and took a boat to Suqian.When they returned in March of the following year,they passed through Huai'an again along the Canal.In his book,The General Poems and Diary of the Envoy to Yanjing,there are many records and descrip⁃tions about Huai'an hydraulic facilities,water god temples,and historical sites,which are of vital value for us to study the water conservancy history,urban history and social history of Huai'an in the Qing dynasty.From its related accounts,we can also see that Huai'an played an important role in the gover⁃nance of rivers and water transport,and the north-south transport system in the Qing dynasty.
