“Cogito Is Facio”:The Ontological Implications of Brain-Computer Fusion

“我思故我在”与“我行故我在”分别将“我思”与“我行”作为建构世界图景的“形而上学支点”,由此刻画了两种不同的存在论立场,折射了理论哲学与实践哲学的重大分野,这是脑体分工和脑机分离时代必然产生的哲学论争。脑机接口技术造就的脑机融合介导了“我思即我行”的关联,以新型的心物通达实现了“我思”与“我行”之间的融合,这为从哲学上重新理解“我思”的存在论意义、“我思”与“我行”在存在论上谁更优位,以及通过新型的心物交互来否定二元等问题拓展了新的视野。

“Cogito ergo sum”(I think,therefore I am)and“facioergo sum”(I do,therefore I am)respectively take“I think”and“I do”as the“metaphysical fulcrum”for constructing the world picture.Two different ontological positions are thus drawn,reflecting the important distinction between theoretical philosophy and practical philosophy,which represents a philosophical debate that arises inevitably in the era of the division of mental and physical works and the separation of the brain and the machine.The brain-computer fusion created by the braincomputer interface technology mediates the association of“I think,at same time I do”,and realizes the fusion between“my thinking”and“my behavior”with a new type of mind-physical access.It sheds light on our endeavor to re-understand the ontological meaning of cogito,helping us determine between cogito and faciowhich one is of more ontological primacy and critique the dualism through a new type of mind-object interaction.
