Water Conservancy,Market and Local Charities in Haining in Late Qing Dynasty

太平天国战后,浙江省杭州府海宁州的秩序重建,是围绕着硖石镇、盐官镇、长安镇、斜桥镇等市镇的兴衰及区域市场一体化展开的。海塘修建、河道疏浚,善堂、书院甚至州衙的重修,主要经由厘金和商捐筹措经费,而区域市场体系与厘金制度密切相关,并由此呈现了地域社会秩序的重建过程。太平天国战争中的某一次战斗、海塘修建中皇帝的“巡幸”、河道疏浚中官员的“观风”、善堂兴办中善捐征收的纷争,等等,均可在某种层次上构成事件史意义,并对地域社会秩序的整体史形成一定程度上的影响。

After the Taiping war,the order reconstruction of Haining in Hangzhou,Zhejiang Province was carried out around the rise and fall of Xiashi Town,Yanguan Town,Chang'an Town,Xieqiao town and the regional market integration.The seawall construction and river dredging,the renovation of Shantang(善堂),academies and even prefectural government offices were mainly financed by Likin and commercial donations.The regional market system was closely related to Likin system,and thus presented the process of social integration of local order.A battle in the Taiping war,the emperor's inspection in seawall construction,the officials'inspection in river dredging,the dispute over the collection of charitable donations in the establishment of Shantang,and so on,all of which constitute the significance of event history in a certain level,has a certain impact on the overall history of regional social integration.
