大学生思想道德素质指数是反映大学生思想水平、政治觉悟、道德品质发展变化的相对数,其实质就是运用指数法对大学生思想道德素质发展变动状况进行评价,通过数据比较的形式反映大学生思想道德素质在不同时间或空间条件下的变动情况。编制大学生思想道德素质指数,要根据大学生思想道德素质结构进行指标体系构建,科学选取样本、权数、基期和计算公式。大学生思想道德素质指数具有综合评价、影响因素分析和变动趋势预判与评比等功能。
