摘要 Post-traumatic epilepsy(PTE)is a serious complication of traumatic brain injury. It is also the most common type of symptomatic epilepsy. This might be associated with the typical pathological changes of brain injury, including reactive glial hyperplasia, axonal retraction ball,Wallerian degeneration, microglial scar formation, and white matter cystic lesions. The prophylactic use of antiepileptic drugs could effectively reduce the risk of early epileptic seizures in patients with severe traumatic brain injury. In this article,we review the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical characteristics, and treatment of PTE based on the latest clinical and laboratory research results.
