INTRODUCTION Since the beginning of vitreoretinal surgery proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR)has been a constant complication.PVR is the major cause for surgical failure after primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD)resulting in multiple reoperations and vision loss.So far,there is no proven therapy to treat or prevent PVR.
