The Origins of the Literature Retrieval Course

20世纪80年代初期,在全国高等学校图书馆工作委员会的推动下,教育部发文在全国高校开设“文献检索与利用”课程。文章回顾了课程设立的缘起,介绍了具体实施的过程,包括:前期舆论准备、力促教育部发文、确定课程名称、延揽师资人才、组织编写教材、开展馆员培训等,总结了其成功经验,以期为高校图书馆事业发展提供启发和借鉴。

In the early 1980s,driven by the National Working Committee on Academic Libraries in China,the Ministry of Education issued an official document to set up“Literature Retrieval and Utilization”course in universities nationwide.The article reviews the origins of the course and introduces the process of its implementation,including the preparation of public opinion,the issue of an official document by the Ministry of Education,the determination of the course name,the recruitment of teachers,the organization of compiling textbooks,and the training of librarians.Its successful experience is summarized with hope to provide inspiration and reference for the development of the academic libraries.
