全球性大学作为新的大学形态,已经成为推动高等教育国际化向前发展的重要力量。全球性大学的特征体现为其战略目标与组织机构、人才培养理念、声誉品牌、校区与师生、课程教学等的全球性,它的职能主要包括:培养具有全球视野的国际化人才;生产创造跨区域的国际性知识;服务国家和地方发展战略,提升学校的本地声誉;搭建文化沟通的桥梁,传承引领和谐共生的文化。全球性大学诞生至今,历经萌芽期、孕育期和形成期三个阶段,并渐趋成熟。全球性大学的出现对全球高等教育产生深远影响,但也面临着现实挑战:较难避免意识形态的渗透;缺乏充足的资金支持;建设存在认知的差异和障碍。

As a new university form,global universities have become an important force in promoting the internationalization of higher education.The characteristics of a global university are reflected in the globality of its strategic goals and organizational structure,talent training concept,reputation and brand,campuses,teachers and students,and course teaching.Its functions mainly include:cultivating international talents with a global perspective,producing cross-regional international knowledge,serving national and local development strategies,enhancing the local reputation of the school,building a bridge of cultural communication,and inheriting and leading the culture of harmonious coexistence.Since the birth of global university,it has gone through three periods:the budding period,the gestation period and the forming period,and gradually matures.The emergence of global universities has a profound impact on global higher education,but it also faces realistic challenges:difficulty in avoiding the erosion of ideology;lack of sufficient financial support;and the cognitive differences and obstacles in construction.
