Further Discussion of the North China-Mongolian Plateau Metallurgical Province

在《欧亚草原东部的金属之路——丝绸之路与匈奴联盟的孕育过程》一书中,我们初次提出并讨论了中国北方-蒙古高原冶金区。在相当于夏代时期,这个冶金区处于萌芽阶段,代表性的器物有翘尖刀和联珠纹饰牌。到了殷墟时期,这个冶金区达到第一次高峰,铃首、环首和兽首的铜刀、剑非常发达,区域地理范围东到外贝加尔,西到米努辛斯克盆地。

Analysis of bronze ornaments reveals intra-and inter-regional cultural exchanges in the North China-Mongolian Plateau Metallurgical Province. Zoomorphic motifs prevailed in the Yuhuangmiao culture and Tuva region, while traditional pearl motifs persisted in the Baikal region. Bronze plaques with s-shaped clouds and traditional pearl motifs predominated in the Maoqinggou culture. New discoveries in the Lake Baikal region extends the developmental sequence of the North China-Mongolian Plateau Metallurgical Province from the Xia,Shang and Western Zhou period to the Eastern Zhou period. They demonstrate the signifi cant role that the Baikal region played in this metallurgical province, as well as the complexness of intra-and inter-metallurgical province cultural exchanges.
