民族与国家边界的历时性考察

Boundary: A Diachronic Study of Nation and Country

民族国家作为近代西方文明的产物,自产生之初便对欧洲文明产生了深刻的影响,而这种影响随着西方资本主义的扩张而遍及世界,成为近现代国际社会与人类文明的基础。考察民族国家之形成对于理解近、现代文明具有重要意义。从边界的角度出发理解民族国家的形成,通过历时性地考察民族与国家这两个概念与群体在中西方两大文明历史上各自的边界演变,可以发现中西方文明共同经历了民族与国家的“自然结合”与“自然分离”,但只有西方产生了民族与国家的“偶然结合”,最终形成了现代意义上的民族国家。

As a product of modern Western civilization,nation-state had a profound impact on Euro pean civilization since its inception.With the expansion of western capitalism,the nation-state eventually spread throughout the world and becomes the base of modern international society and human civilization.The study of the formation of nation state is of great significance to the understanding of recent and modern civilization.understanding the formation of nation and state from the perspective of boundaries and diachronically examining the historical boundaries of the two concepts in China and the West,we found that both Chinese and Western civilizations have experienced the“natural combination”and“natural separation”of the nation and the state,but only the West has produced the“accidental combination”of the nation and the state and finally formed a nation-state in the modern sense.
