Congenital heart disease surgery is complex, and its surgical coding is classified according to the site, operation type, approach, whether there are implants and the type of implants. In this paper, surgical ICD coding of common congenital heart disease was summarized and analyzed from the surgical methods, surgical coding difficulties, surgical coding search methods and coding rules. Ventricular septal repair was classified according to the approach, whether there was an implant, and the type of implant, and the code was 35.53, 35.62, 35.72,while the code was 35.55 for ventricular septal defect closure. The codes of atrial septal defect repair were 35.51,35.61, 35.71 according to the approach, whether there was an implant and the type of implant, and the codes of atrial septal defect closure were 35.52. The code for ligation of arterial catheter, arteriotomy and suture was 38.85,and percutaneous patent ductus closure was 39.79. Surgery for pulmonary stenosis: open pulmonary valve plasty without replacement was coded in 35.13, biological pulmonary valve replacement was coded in 35.25, mechanical pulmonary valve replacement was coded in 35.26, and transcatheter balloon pulmonary valve dilatation was coded in 35.96. Aortic coarctation surgery: the code was 38.34 for stenosis resection and end-to-end anastomosis,39.56 for left subclavian artery angioplasty, 39.57 for artificial graft, 38.45 for stenosis resection and artificial vessel transplantation, and 39.50 for balloon dilation. Surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot: radical surgery for tetralogy of Fallot was coded at 35.81, systemic circulation-pulmonary shunt was coded at 39.0, and right ventricular outflow tract dredging was coded at 35.34.
