Essay Film as a Strong Connection between Film and Philosophy

电影哲学的一个基本问题就是探索影像和思考之间的内在本质的关联,而论文电影显然是此种探索的典型而极致的形态。本文试图结合论文电影研究的几篇经典文本,概括出其三个基本特征,即开放的文本、多元的媒介、参与的观众。开放性突显出力量的场域,多元性呈现出媒介的融合,参与性则更涉及观者的主体性难题。论文电影不仅有效实现了主体自身流动多变的身份和形态,更是以体验为纽带,以思想实验为手法实现了作者和观众之间的平等而开放的对话。它不仅足以作为参与性艺术在晚近以来的重要形态,更是得以成为电影朝向未来发展的积极变革的可能。

One of the basic tasks of film philosophy is to explore the intrinsic relationship between imagery and thinking,and essay film is obviously the typical one and even the extreme form. This article cites several classic texts of essay film study and sums up its three basic characteristics,namely,open-ended texts,the multiplicity of media,and the participating audience. Openness highlights the field of forces,multiplicity demonstrates the fusion of media,and participation addresses the difficulty in the subjectivity of the viewers. Essay film not only allows for the creation of fluid and changeable identities and forms of subjectivity but also enables reciprocal and open dialogues between the author and the audience by taking experiences as the nexus and thought experiments as the method. Not only is it an important form of participatory art in recent times,it also provides a possibility for change in the future development of the film.
