虽然在自然形态上人的肉体和精神必定结合在一起,但为了自我持存,人必定会把肉体和精神对立起来。而当肉体和精神对立起来的时候,人就会把认识和实践、思维活动与肉体操作分离开来。我们的认识论就是建立在这样的二元对立的基础上的。一旦肉体和精神分离开来,认识活动中的许多现象就无法得到正确的理解。当我们从肉体和精神的和解中理解认识的时候,我们对于概念、思维、真理及检验真理的方法等都会有完全不同的理解。这并不是完全否定主客体对立的认识论,而是要反思这种认识论,从肉体和精神的分离和统一的辩证法中理解认识过程。

Although human body in its natural form is necessarily combined with mind, human body and mind are bound to be opposed to each other for self-preservation. When the body and the mind are in opposition, people will separate the cognition and practice, the thinking activity and the physical operation. The common accepted epistemology is based on such binary opposition. Once the body and mind are separated, many phenomena in cognitive activities cannot be properly understood. When we understand knowledge from the reconciliation of the body and mind, we will have a completely different understanding of concepts, thoughts, truth, methods of testing truth, etc. This is not to completely deny the epistemology which bases on the opposition of subject and object, but to reflect on this epistemology and understand the process of cognition from dialectics of body and mind.
