李根源先生是我国近代著名的爱国人士,他在辛亥革命中有过重要贡献,还特别热爱金石、地方文献整理等,一生中对于图书馆事业也倾注了不少心血。文章根据目前掌握的相关资料,试图就李根源先生对图书馆事业的贡献进行简要的梳理,以便为研究李根源先生事迹和我国近代图书馆事业发展的同仁提供一些线索和思路。

Mr.Li Genyuan is a famous patriot in modern China,who had made important contributions to the Revolution of 1911,and he was especially fond of the stone inscription,local literature collation,etc.He also devoted a lot of efforts to the library cause in his life.Based on the information available so far,this paper tries to make a brief analysis of Mr.Li s contribution to the library cause,in order to provide some clues and ideas for the study of Mr.Li s deeds and the development of our modern library cause.
