The use of the new 5G mobile communication standard is promising for many applications. Improved network characteristics allow us to re-examine the possibilities of using the Internet, including ensuring the safe and uninterrupted operation of power plant equipment, in order to minimize economic losses to society. This paper considers the application prospect of the new technology of CHPP equipment automatic monitoring and protection system, and shows that from the perspective of technical characteristics and economic indicators, with the help of low delay data transmission and large amount of computing processing capacity, the use of 5g technology is attractive to energy enterprises.
