Chief Physician GOU Chunyan’s experience in treating peripheral facial paralysis in acute stage was summarized in this paper.Director GOU believes that acupuncture and moxibustion treatment should be intervened in peripheral facial paralysis in acute stage as soon as possible.At the same time,the stimulation intensity of acupuncture should be grasped according to the depth of exogenous pathogenic factors and the deficiency and excess of vital energy.Combined with the method of knocking teeth to regulate Qi(气)plus the Qufeng Jiedu Huoluo decoction(祛风解毒活络汤)and facial beauty guidance exercises,a more satisfactory effect can be obtained clinically.
