From Temporary Use to Country-wide Adoption:Editing Features and Historical Contributions of East China Primary School Chinese Textbooks

华东版小学国语课本由上海临时课本编审委员会于1949—1950年根据山东解放区小学国语课本彻底重编而成,具有贯彻新民主主义教育原则、教学内容兼顾城市学生实际、初小国语以常识为中心、编排组织形式灵活调整、文本语句适当修润的特点。该版课本供应区域广泛,在全国范围内产生了影响,为后续小学语文教科书的编写积蓄了专家资源,奠定了全国统编新教材编写的重要实践与理论基础。

East China primary school Chinese textbooks were completely re-edited by the Interim Committee for Shanghai Textbook Editing from 1949 to 1950 based on the primary school Chinese textbooks published in the liberated area of Shandong.This set of textbooks implemented the educational principles of New Democracy,and the teaching contents took into account the reality of urban students.They were organized in a flexible manner with a focus on general knowledge in the primary grades,and the textual statements were appropriately embellished.The textbooks were widely used in schools in China and had a national impact,accumulating expert resources for the compilation of subsequent primary Chinese textbooks and laying an important practical and theoretical foundation for the compilation of new national unified textbooks.
