中国农林类高校校训的翻译现状与对策:基于修辞对比的研究

摘要 将国内41所农林类高校校训与国外高校校训构建平行文本,从修辞角度对比两者在话语内容、诉求策略、建构模式和辞格使用等方面的差异,分析目前我国农林类高校校训翻译存在的问题,提出校训翻译应使用受众喜闻乐见的表达方式,通过提高校训内容的可信度,采用受众熟悉的诉求策略,套用受众熟悉的建构方式以及得体运用美学辞格手段等对策,以期提高校训翻译质量,助力中国农林类高校树立正面国际形象。 By constructing a parallel text of school mottos of 41 Chinese agricultural and forestry universities and overseas universities,this paper compares the rhetorical differences between the two in terms of discourse content,appeal strategy,construction mode and use of figures of speech,analyzes the problems existing in the translation of school mottos in Chinese agricultural and forestry colleges and universities,and puts forward that English translation of school mottos should use the expressions loved by the target audience.By improving the credibility of the content of school mottos,adopting the familiar appeal strategy of the target audience,applying the familiar construction method of the target audience and appropriately using the aesthetic rhetorical means,some effective translation strategies are explored with the purpose of improving translation quality of school mottos and building a positive international image of Chinese agricultural and forestry colleges and universities.
