Su Dongpo is admired by the world for his poetic talent and literati character,but his achievements are not limited to the social sciences,but he also made outstanding contributions to the field of natural sciences.Based on the perspective of the new era,this paper systematically analyzes Su Dongpo’s scientific qualities and his scientific and technological achievements in the field of natural science based on the basic requirements for scientist qualities and abilities of scientific and technological workers.The classification and publicity of Su Dongpo’s scientific qualities and scientific and technological achievements will not only help the formation of scientific thinking and scientific research aspirations of contemporary young people,but also provide references and lessons for the establishment of scientific research ethics and cultivation of talents in China in the context of the new era.
