In the form of oral historical files, the documentary film “Six People — Chinese Survivors on the Titanic” links fragmented materials in an associative way according to the relevance of narrative themes, focusing on the survival tracks of the six Chinese survivors after the Titanic shipwreck and the reasons why their escape experiences were deliberately erased. This paper uses the theory of contemporary cognitive metaphor and media framework to critically analyze the western political discourse in the context of the film “Chinese Exclusion Act”,reveals the individual and social cognitive motivation behind the rhetoric of “Chinese Exclusion” metaphor and the construction of media framework, cares about the narrative strategy of the current western media, and shows the “stigmatized” survival situation of Chinese Americans.
